About
You set the roadmap and the cadence; we deliver. Engagements run as 3–4 week phases against a fixed scope, with reviews at the rhythm you choose. Where your team works to ISO 9001 or AS9100, our process aligns with yours.
Who we are
BLINKENLIGHT is a UK radio-frequency and IoT engineering practice. We design antennas, wireless, IoT and RF electronics, and run EMC pre-compliance for product companies that need specialist capability. Engagements are led personally by our principal engineer and in-house team, and supported by a network of associate specialists who add complementary expertise as a project requires. We work from our own RF lab in Bethnal Green, East London.

The lab
Our fully equipped lab in Bethnal Green, East London, means that we can go from concept to prototype in 3-4 weeks, without waiting for external testing. This means your project is delivered faster.
We have experience supporting projects from DC to mmWave. Our in-house RF envelope is below 6 GHz and 20 W, and projects outside of this range are supported through leased equipment and, if specific skills are needed, our network of associate specialists.
How an engagement runs
Every engagement follows a documented sequence, aligned with the Agile methodology. Our process adapts to your roadmap and method of work, supporting your ISO 9001 / AS9100 workflows if required.
Starting with a free 30-minute consultation, we'll write a scope covering the assumptions and your goals. The project will be broken down into phases, with a fixed estimate cost for each. Each phase is about 3-4 weeks of work.
At the beginning of each phase, we carefully review and agree the scope. We'll then start the technical work, designing the product schematic, RF, PCB and firmware in industry-standard tools such as KiCad and Sonnet.
We meet with you every week, or on a cadence you determine, until the phase is complete. This ensures our work is closely aligned with your requirements.
You receive a handover at the end of each phase, ready for the next phase on your timeline. Design-and-source escrow can also be arranged through an independent UK escrow agent, so continuity is assured.
Quality & assurance
Our IT and information-security controls are independently assessed each year under the UK government's Cyber Essentials scheme. We accept standard mutual NDAs and supplier onboarding packs.
